eQuality Solutions is a group of sister companies that share a passion for supporting inclusivity and neurodiversity with personalised learning solutions.

This passion stems from our founder, Chris Quickfall, who discovered he was dyslexic when he was 21, whilst studying at university. Having experienced the equipment and services available first-hand, Chris’ desire to improve the quality of support for all higher education students receiving Disabled Students Allowance (DSA), fuelled the launch of our three companies.

eQuality Solutions is made up of Invate, an AT equipment and software provider, e-Quality Learning, a one-to-one AT training provider, and Learning Labs, an AT e-learning portal.

The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated procurement professional to join Invate for a 10-month period, a thriving northeast business. The Procurement Controller provides a professional, reliable and efficient procurement framework across the Organisation to properly manage costs, reduce commercial risk and ultimately obtain ‘best value’ from external providers, whilst ensuring that high levels of quality and performance are maintained.

The Procurement Controller leads the day to day management of the procurement function focusing on sourcing and purchasing IT hardware, software and peripheral products alongside some more general corporate services requirements such as travel and stationery. The successful applicant will provide procurement/commercial advice and expertise internally and ensure that Procurement conducts the sourcing activity, ensures optimum value and forms valuable partnerships with external providers. It is expected that the successful candidate will formulate contracts with suppliers as necessary and will be instrumental in leading and managing the on-going relationships with suppliers ensuring that contractual commitments are monitored and met.

The post holder will be able to lead tendering procedures but will also process any daily purchasing requirements with Invate’s suppliers and any other ad hoc purchasing related matters as required. There is administrative support for this role in the form of an apprentice but the successful applicant must be happy to undertake the administrative elements of an SME purchasing function as well as possessing the gravitas and expertise to undertake more strategic elements of the role.

The successful candidate will also participate in the management of Invate’s inventory levels.

The role will involve regular contact with internal clients across the business and so the job holder must be a confident communicator at all levels and be able to write reports and procedures as required.

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine interest in the technology sector and ideally have some experience in the IT market.

Technical Skills / Knowledge / Education Required:

  • Educated to degree level standard or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualified (desirable)
  • Sound working knowledge of contract law
  • Experience of managing formal tender/quotation processes
  • Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • High level of numeracy and accuracy
  • Sound knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office
  • A genuine interest/background in the technology sector (desirable)
